This ranks one sailor, one boat (ILCA and Laser events). Every sailor who has finished a singlehanded race.

A sailor's rating starts from their main rating, which comes from doublehanded fleet racing, and is then adjusted by their own singlehanded results. 75% of the main rating carries over: that share is what forecast singlehanded races best, so much of what makes a good doublehanded skipper carries into this discipline, but not all of it. Sailors with few races stay close to that starting point; the adjustment grows as results come in, which is why the list leaves out sailors with fewer than 10 races unless you untick that box. A race from 2 years ago counts half as much as one sailed today.

Boats that did not finish a race (DNF, DSQ, OCS and similar) are left out of that race rather than counted as last. The numbers are on their own scale and cannot be compared with the main rankings.

How well it forecasts

Each version was fitted on races before a season and then asked to call that season's races: for every pair of boats in a race, which finished ahead. Tested on Fall 2024, Fall 2025 (83,229 pairs). A coin flip scores 50% and 0.693.
